Participants in the 1998 Run- Through-Redlands just moments from the start of the run. During the past fourteen years the run has become the biggest in the Inland Area, attracting runners of all ages from through out Southern California.  The run features a T.A.C. Certified 5K, 10K, and Half-Marathon.

Over the years the event has attracted strong participation by families groups, many with young children.  In 1992 the course was re-certified to move the finish line to the area of the Redlands Bowl.  This change allowed for an outdoor expo and post event activities participants and their families enjoy.

Top Winners in this year's event were:  Wilhelm Gidabuday a twenty-three year old former collegiate star from Perris, who won the 5k with the record time of 15:43 then ran and won the 10k with a time of 33:46 marking the first time that one runner has won both events.  Jayme Ambos, a 12 year old runner, was the winner {18:47 time} of the women's 5k overall title for the third time.   Susana Johnson, 31, set a new course record to win the women's 10k in a battle against two-time league champion Latesha Jones of Rialto.  Emigdio Zarazuna {1:13:45} won the men's 1/2 Marathon with a lead of more than two minutes over second place Kevin Vidana.

At the sound of the fireworks announcing the start of the 15th Annual Run-Through-Redlands, more than 2000 runners head out from the starting line on Redlands Blvd, just outside of the Redlands Mall staging area.

Held at the end of April, running conditions are nearly always ideal, with cool starting temperatures.  Much of the course is over tree lined streets past the many interesting old victorian homes and affording a unique glimpse of the community.

In celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the Run, two new events have been added this year:  A 2k Run-For-Fun, and a 2K Team Relay.  In addition to the Outdoor Expo that has been held in recent years, there will be a special Indoor Expo starting on Friday April 24th and continuing through Saturday April 25th that will feature running sports and health & fitness related displays by vendors and service/care providers.

Not just for competitive runners, the event has attracted family partici- pation and many spectators. The Kinder Dash has been a favorite for the youngsters who get in the spirit watching the big people having fun

JoAnn Bhem {1:37:45} won the women's 1/2 Marathon edging out Cynara Cooper.  Interesting to many was that JoAnn was accompanied by her boyfriend, world class miler Steve Scott, in her bid for the win in this event.
