 | September 15, 2009, The Kiwanis Club of Redlands (Noon) recently
donated $10,000 to the Redlands Fire and Redlands Police to help these
critical City Departments cope with revenue shortfalls and budget
cuts. Redlands Police Chief Jim Bueermann said his department will use
the funds to begin a program called Project Lifesaver that uses a GPS
locater to find Alzheimer's, people with dementia, special needs people, and
others if they wander away. The Fire Chief Jeff Frazier said the
Fire Department will use their $5,000 portion for provide fire prevention
educational materials that target youngsters. To view the full news

 | September 14, 2009, The Kiwanis Club of Redlands participated with
other Inland Empire Kiwanis Clubs to host a special day for kids at the Boys
and Girls Club of Redlands as part of the "Day for Kids"

 | August 28, 2009, The Kiwanis Club of Redlands (Noon) celebrates Breast
Feeding Awareness Month with a gift to Redlands Community
Hospital. The donation from the Club's "Young Children
Priority One" program of more than $2,000 will be used to purchase the
hospital's only Medela Creamatocrit Plus Centrifuge to help premature and
at-risk babies in the neonatal intensive care unit. Click

 | May 12, 2009, Donna Ferracone, currently Vice President of
Service for the Kiwanis Club of Redlands and Dean of Career and Technical
Education at Crafton Hills College, receives the Roy Coble Service to
Youth Award at the YMCA's Annual Joint Service Club Luncheon that was held
at the Casa Loma Room of the University of Redlands. The award is
given each year to the person nominated by the service clubs who participate
in the Joint Service Club Council, and who best exemplifies the Spirit of
Roy Coble; founder of the Great American Y Circus, longtime Executive
director of the Redlands YMCA, and community volunteer dedicated to serving

 | Mar 17, 2008, Two Redlands Kiwanians: Cherry Bordelon,
principal, Redlands Adult School; and Emily Bueermann, Cope Middle School,
Volunteer; were included among forty individuals, businesses and
organizations nominated for the 17th annual San Bernardino County
Education Medal of Honor in recognition of their contributions to public

 | Nov 8, 2007, a proposal to launch a new volunteer 'Park Ranger' program
was presented to the Redlands Parks Commission and it met with enthusiastic
support. The program which will be an extension of the Citizen
Volunteer Patrol, will help minimize vandalism, undesirable
activities, and help improve safety in the city's many beautiful
parks. The Kiwanis Club of Redlands was proud to donate the initial
$5,000 in seed money to provide radios, badges, uniforms, initial supplies
